Buying property with cryptocurrency: a Versace penthouse in London and in Dubai
How a digital-asset holder can buy a branded residence in London or Dubai, why the payment is settled in Dubai, and what to have ready before you begin.
For many founders and early holders, a significant part of their wealth sits in digital assets. Turning that into a home has usually meant selling, moving funds through a bank and starting the purchase from cash. Some UAE projects offer a more direct route: the developer accepts payment in cryptocurrency for its residences, arranged through their own channels in Dubai.
That route now covers two very different homes. One is our Versace-designed tower in central London, with its trophy duplex penthouse and an assortment of ready to move-in luxury apartments. The other is a choice of luxury residences in Dubai.
Why the purchase runs through Dubai
Developers in Dubai began accepting cryptocurrency for property in 2022. Dubai has since built one of the clearest frameworks for digital assets anywhere. Virtual-asset businesses are licensed by the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, and Gulf News reported in 2026 that a crypto payment for property is converted into dirhams through a licensed intermediary before the sale is registered. The Dubai Land Department has also begun piloting tokenised title deeds. True pioneers within the world of real estate.
For a buyer, this means the crypto side of the transaction is handled by the developer under Dubai's regulation, with regulatory oversight throughout the transaction for peace of mind.
The Versace penthouse in central London
The Versace tower in Nine Elms is a completed 50-storey building on Bondway, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, with interiors, lobby and amenity floors by Versace Home. It offers a stunning indoor pool on the 23rd floor with staggering views of our London skyline, day and night, as well as a spa, cinema, communal gardens and a 24-hour concierge. It is a two-minute walk from Vauxhall station, with Westminster a short walk along the river and the City a short Tube ride away.
The tower is finished and handed over. The last available penthouse and the remaining residences can be seen as they are, with no construction risk left in the price. For a buyer paying in digital assets, that matters: the home is already there.
Residences in Dubai
In Dubai, several developers accept payment in digital assets through the same regulated route, which suits a buyer who wants a home or an investment in a city that has set out to welcome digital wealth. We represent only the most reputable and trusted developers in Dubai and the UAE. Current availability is on our developments page, and we can share residences not yet published on request.
What to have ready
Every purchase funded by digital assets is checked carefully, as it should be. In the UAE, property transactions paid wholly or partly in virtual assets are reported to the authorities, and the buyer's identity and the origin of the funds are verified.
How a payment in digital assets is treated for tax depends on where you are resident. Take independent tax and legal advice in your own country before you commit.
Our reading
Cryptocurrency does not change what makes a residence worth buying: the building, the location and the price. What it changes is who can act quickly. A completed Versace penthouse in Zone 1 and Dubai residences can now be bought by holders of digital assets through a route designed specifically for them.
